Friday Update!

Hey, kids! I'm getting slightly worn out but the work is getting there! Here's an update on Wasabi Arthur, Blue Ball and Mr T(ea).

I should be able to finish Lucille today.

Also, I blocked in Berry Tyler Moore this morning.

She smells fantastic.

Don't forget to enter the Herman card contest which ends on Sunday!

Hi, Plush You Readers!

Hello, Plush You Readers! Thanks for clicking through! (And many, many thanks to Kristen for the link!)
While you're here, how about an update on the show?

The "Blue Ball" (Lucille Ball made from blue food dye and acrylic on paper) is almost finished.

It's creepy but she actually follows you around the room like that James Montgommery Flagg poster.

I've also started work on a "Wasabi Arthur" redux ( original "Wasabi Arthur").

More updates later this week!

Still Working Blue!

Making progress on the first piece. Maybe two or three hours left on this one? (Maybe if no one else crashes a car into a retaining wall across the street from me again. (Thankfully, no one was hurt.))

I've started sketching on the second piece as well. Things are moving along at a pretty good pace!

More frequent progress photos can be seen in the set.

Also, don't forget to enter the Herman card contest!

Blue Update!

Work has begun on the show!

I wanted to post a picture of the materials because it's important for me to mention that, while I will be using suspect and fugitive materials, I will also be supplementing them with traditional art supplies. For example, this painting

will be composed of two types of blue food dye and a blue acrylic paint. This is because I cannot in good conscience place a painting for sale that is going to fade within three days. (Food dye is not lightfast.) It's only fair to the potential purchaser.

More updates coming soon!

Herman Meunster Card Contest is CLOSED!

The contest is now closed. Thanks for entering!

it's a book!

you know how i've been hinting around that noah (you know, noah! he rocks!) has included me in one of his upcoming projects? well, now i've got the official news!

i'm included in his new book, 365: a daily creativity journal due out on dec 15, 2010 from voyageur!

i'll post more details as they become available. in the mean time, check out my current 365 (which is not for those allergic to the f word) or the 365 that i didn't complete due to time constraints. alternately, you could go read my short 37 day blog that runs from april 19-may 25.

also, don't forget! suspect and fugitive is the basis for a show at bluebottle in june. (opening, june 10 from 5-8p in conjunction with caphill art walk.)

yes, it's quite busy around these parts lately...

Big News, Readers!

Hi there, S&F fans! I just received the green light yesterday for my first solo show! Hooray!

The opening will be June 10, 2010 at the old Bluebottle/new Cakespy Shop gallery from 5p-8p in connection with the Capitol Hill art walk!

The fun part about this show is that I'm making *new* Fugitives (and a few twists on old favorites)! I'll be posting updates and behind the scenes photos, etc in the upcoming weeks. I'll probably also throw in a contest or two as well!

Right now though, I've got a lot of planning to do. In addition to the new show, I'm still in the thick of Stupid F Awesome (warning: Don't click if you have an aversion to the f word.). I'll also have a short 37 day project starting on April 19th and running through May 25th when I turn, um, 37.

Please check back soon for updates! Hope to see you at the show!
