Magnumstache Cookie
In not directly related to the show but still fugivite news, today I made a Magnumstache Cookie which is a Tom Selleck cookie with interchangeable mustache cookies. (Wow, that's "cookie" too many times in one sentence!)
A very basic how to is at 37 confections. There's also a video of the cookies in action.
Don't forget the "Horse and Tooth" card contest ends today at 5 pm pdt! But don't worry if you don't win. The last contest starts tomorrow morning and it's a big one!

No, I'm Not Making a Sandwich
Just got the last of my supplies today. Maybe you can figure out where I'm going with this based on a previous fugitive?
I'll give you a hint: There will be some carving involved.
Don't forget to enter this week's contest! There are two cards to win!!

Why not RSVP?
S&F fans! If you're going to be in the Seattle area on June 10, why not RSVP for my opening on the Facebook page? I'd love to see you there!
Another Piece
Looks like it's time for another update!
Today I started working on "Coffee Coffy" (Pam Grier as Coffy made from coffee).
I've been making steady progress on the show! In fact, 7 pieces are now completed! ("Blue Ball", "Berry Tyler Moore", "Dill Bert", "Wasabi Arthur", "Chocolate Baria", "Beety White" and "Tropical Ponch").
I'll upload photos of the completed pieces once the show is up. Local readers can go see it in person June 1st! (Opening is June 10th from 5p-8p. Hope to see you there!)
Don't forget, only two days left in the "Ham Solo" contest!

Two More Pieces in Progress
I'm too tired to make this pithy. How about I just give you some short commentary on two more works in progress?
Here's "Chocolate Baria". (Daria in acrylic on a chocolate bar)
A lot of pieces come about because of my slight dyslexia. (Bdp and q occasionally make reading unintentionally hilarious.)
This is the start of "Tropical Ponch". (Ponch made from tropical punch Kool Aid.)
My work area is starting to smell weird what with the combination of wasabi, coffee, kool aid, chocolate and beets. Bleah.
In less smelly news, don't forget to enter this week's card contest!

Staying Golden
Here're two "Golden Girls" in progress. I swear, "Beety White" (Betty White made from beet juice) is trying to give me a freakin' aneurysm.
I've managed to sledgehammer her into having *some* resemblance to Betty White. She has a lazy eye at the moment though. Oh, ho ho.
"Wasabi Arthur", in contrast, happened quite easily once I decided to stop painting with wasabi and just screen with it. Here's an artist proof.
The finished image is going to be very similar. (The original "Wasabi Arthur" for those of you keeping score.)
A warning: if you ever decide to use wasabi as a silkscreening ink, open a window. Copious amounts of wasabi will make you cough like crazy. Also, your eyes will water something fierce.
K, back to wrestling with the beet image. (I think it's gonna' be a long night.)

A Finished Fugitive
Thought I'd upload one of the completed pieces for the Bluebottle show (opening: June 10, 5p-8p!) since I've only been showing you glimpses of works in progress.
This is "Dill Bert". (Bert made from dill and watercolor)
He'll be framed and available for purchase through Bluebottle in June.
Now, however, I've got to get back to work. These pieces won't finish themselves! (More solo show updates are available in semi real time in the Flickr set.)

Photo Shoot for Show Card
Today Leff helped me photograph possible images for the show card! (Thanks, Leff!) The card will be either "Berry Tyler Moore" (Mary Tyler Moore made from strawberries, raspberries and acrylic)
or "Blue Ball" (Lucille Ball made from blue food dye and acrylic).
Exciting, huh?
Don't forget, only one more day in the Herman contest! But don't fret if I don't draw your name tomorrow! On Monday there will be a new card to win!
