princess dye at lucky 7 salon



princess diana made from perm hair dye.

i made her at lucky 7 with the left over dye from my hair coloring. here's dye drying in a chair.



many thanks to shain, my stylist, for letting me use a stencil at the shop.

Did you use regular w/c paper with this piece? Just curious. Very nicely done!

I'll be passing through Seattle in July, but won't be there long enough to get my hair dyed. :>

thanks, skully! i was really happy when shain let me work with the left over dye!

no, teresa. i don't use watercolor paper for the most part because i'm being nonarchival with materials. that's just plain acid filled typing paper. it's easy to transport and holds a lot more media than people would think!

although, if i was selling the actual piece, i'd put it on archival paper.

That makes sense you wouldn't use expensive paper for the ephemeral art you're doing here. :)
