a young, "punky brewster" era soleil moon frye on a moon pie.
here's a bit of "punky brewster" trivia for you! apparently, there was a real punky brewster who was, like her fictional counterpart, quite a tomboy. rumor has it that brandon tartikoff, nbc programming head at the time the show aired, had a crush on the real life punky when he was younger. due to his case of "puppy love", punky's dog on the show (who followed her faithfully) was named brandon.

oh my gosh!
you are amazing...
i love your stuff!
Cute - the Moon Pye and the trivia. ;)
thanks, ladies!
never saw that show, to tell the truth.
the internet is your friend.
i see ..
well, i guess i didn't watch it because it was a "girl" show.
my cootie detector probably kept me away.
i just thought it was because you're canadian and it was an american show.
we got american shows in canada as well as canadian shows .. most channels would play both.
the canadian government regulates what percentage of shows should be canadian.
in prime time, 50% of shows need to be canadian but since the local news counts against that 50%, most of the rest of the shows are american.
yes, but, i thought it was too american-centric to translate well.
maybe they'd have to add canadian subtitles ;-)
one of the cool things about canada is the kinds of american shows the canadian channels play .. for example, the daily show and colbert report are aired for the country at 12 o'clock every night.
so there are differences in what american shows canadians get that way.
but, also, if you have basic cable, you get the unedited abc, nbc, and cbs channels from a US affiliate .. in our case it was spokane washington.
so punky brewster would have been available that way, at least.
(psssst--i'm actually aware of this stuff. i lived with two canadians and have several friends who are from canada. i'm just fucking with you. ;D)
o.
